Prayer at All Saints

At All Saints Catholic School, students are encouraged to nurture their relationship with God through prayer. The cycle of prayer during a school day serves as a constant reminder of the presence of God in all of our pursuits, whether they be spiritual, personal or academic. This helps students to see the connections between their studies and their faith.

Every lesson begins with a prayer:

Dear God

Grant me a calm mind and quiet disposition so that through my learning I may come to your truth.

At midday, the school unites with the universal church by stopping to the sound of church bells and praying the Angelus. 

℣. The Angel of the LORD declared unto Mary,

℟. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Hail Mary, full of grace; the LORD is with thee: blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

℣. Behold the handmaid of the LORD.

℟. Be it done unto me according to thy word.

Hail Mary, full of grace; the LORD is with thee: blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

℣. And the Word was made flesh.

℟. And dwelt among us.

Let us pray,

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O LORD, Thy grace into our hearts; that, we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord.
