Performing Arts

 

All Saints Catholic School has a thriving Performing Arts faculty that aims to challenge and stretch the students, not only as performers but as individuals through the disciplines of Drama and Music.

The faculty is an inclusive, stimulating environment in which students are encouraged to fulfil their potential by way of acquiring and developing new skills and experiences within the framework of explaining, improvisation, rehearsal and performance.

The Performing Arts are a powerful tool that helps students understand the world they live in whilst nurturing self-confidence and strengthening their spiritual, moral and cultural awareness and creativity. An enjoyable and varied curriculum is compulsory at KS3 with students participating in 200 minutes of Performing Arts lessons per fortnight.

Co-Curricular

All Saints School Orchestra

When learning a musical instrument at All Saints, you earn your place in the prestigious All Saints School Orchestra under the direction of conductor and Orchestra Leader, Ms. Hogan. The orchestra perform at many high-profile events such as our annual Christmas Carol Service, Prize Giving Evening and Year 6 Open Evening. The orchestra have featured at these school events and perform with professionalism and a sense of pride – proud to be representing their school in performance. Rehearsals take place weekly. 


Lower School Choir

The Lower School choir is a popular and well attended group which rehearse weekly under the supervision of Ms. Hogan. They rehearse a blend of traditional songs and upbeat, modern classics.  The choir is open to Years 7-9. Come and sing your heart out with us!

Contemporary Dance Club

In our contemporary dance club, students learn new skills and a new routine every week. The club is open to Years 7-10. They have their own unique uniform that they purchased (T shirt and Jogging bottoms) that make it very comfortable and makes them feel like a team. They build their confidence and work on their team work as well as express their individuality in each routine. It gives them a chance to express their emotions in a calm and safe way. It has been a success this year and we look forward to performing at some school events in the future.

Gospel Choir

The Gospel Choir in All Saints School is a thriving success. This choir perform at numerous events throughout the school calendar, the most recent event was a very prestigious event for the school.  When the choir step out in their blue robes, audiences and congregations know they are in for a treat as they perform with energy, pride and passion. These students have the dedication to do this as they have the passion and love for the choir, and more importantly, for the God they sing their praises to. We look forward to hearing the choir at many future All Saints Catholic School events and can’t wait to welcome new faces when we return to school.
